1865 and onwards…
The hotel was built in 1865 and is the first hotel in Alagna. Our dining room is named after Margherita of Savoy, who was the queen of Italy during the later part of the 1880s. Even Europe's highest mountain lodge Capanna Regina Margherita on 4454 AMSL (which also lies in Alagna's mountain area) is named after her. In 1893, she and her court ladies climbed the mountain and visited our hotel during her trip.
In 2013 the hotel got their new owners who still run the facility today.
Since then the hotel has been carefully renovated. A new lounge, sauna and a heated ski room have been added.
